Third weekend of racing in the CIV Moto3 and Premoto3 for Bucci Moto at the Autodromo of Imola, with the team from Felino which, in a weekend reduced of one day due to the impossibility of riding on Thursday in the CIV at Imola, lined up as usual with its classic formation, with Matteo Morri only rider in Moto3 and the duo of Cristian Basso and Nicola Plazzi, rookie there, in Premoto3.
Exactly from the Premoto3 the most important satisfactions arrived, with Cristian Basso who got the points zone in both of the races, after a crash in qualifying which compromised a part of the first sessions, despite the big effort from the Bucci Moto’ staff to put again on track the roman rider.
Especially in race 2 the young rider of Claudio Bucci’s team was having a great recovery, setting up the fastest lap, when the race was red flagged due to a crash of another rider, together with the rain which started. At the restart, Basso couldn’t do better than 12th position, for a results which leave a bit of disappointment, for that red flag which stopped a very promising race.
Good growth for Nicola Plazzi, with the young rider from Ravenna who arrived at Imola without seeing it before and he improved session by session, scoring his fastest laps in race 2 in which he touched on the point zone, finishing in 18th place, but showing an important growth step by step, which will be useful for next round at Misano.
In Moto3, Matteo Morri couldn’t find the best feeling with the Imola track, with the young rider who was forced to retire in race 1 due to a technical problem, while in race 2 he finished in 13th place, in a race conditioned by a mistake in variante bassa, which caused him to lose some time and some positions.
Now for Bucci Moto the next chance is at Misano, for the fourth round of Italian Championship Moto3 and Premoto3.
Claudio Bucci: “It was not an easy weekend, on a very difficult track and in which it wasn’t possibile to ride on Thursday. We worked as never before to find the setup with just one session of free practices and I have to say I’m very proud of our technical staff, which worked in an excellent way. We leave Imola with a bit of disappointment for the Premoto3, because without the red flag we we may be were talking about a different result with Cristian Basso, but I’m happy anyway about the attitude and the weekend of our riders. Also Nicola did his best without knowing the track, improving session by session to ride in race 2 with very good laptimes, for a very positive feeling looking forward to Misano. In Moto3 it was less easier, but anyway Matteo grew up and in race 2 he made his best laptimes, so this shows how there’s some potential more. Now we focus on Misano and we continue to work!”
